You might be here because...

You may look like you’re holding it all together. But inside, you may find yourself:

  • Replaying conversations and second-guessing what you said.
  • Getting caught in the same painful patterns in relationships.
  • Feeling torn between what you want and what your family expects.
  • Carrying responsibility for everyone else while struggling to make room for yourself.
  • Wondering why certain situations affect you so deeply, even when you understand them intellectually.

Therapy can offer a place to slow down, make sense of these patterns, and explore what might change.

For more than two decades, my work has centered on listening closely to people and understanding the complex systems that shape their lives. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) serving clients virtually across New York and New Jersey, I help individuals and couples understand what’s weighing on them and work through it.

Looking beneath the surface

My approach looks beyond what’s troubling you on the surface, to the deeper patterns shaping how you experience yourself, your relationships, and the world. Together we can explore what may be contributing to your anxiety, depression, or sense of being stuck — and begin to understand why these struggles persist. I hold an Advanced Graduate Certificate in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy from the Metropolitan Institute for Training in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy.

Navigating different worlds

I work with people who are caught between competing expectations: family duty versus personal desire, cultural identity versus individual identity, and financial security versus meaningful work. Many of the people I see appear to be managing life beautifully on the outside, but feel anxious, exhausted, or uncertain on the inside. You may be deeply accustomed to meeting everyone else’s expectations while finding it incredibly hard to recognize what you actually want for yourself.

My background and approach

My background spans private psychotherapy, clinical supervision, graduate-level teaching, and organizational leadership. As a South Asian therapist, I bring a personal and professional understanding to the complexities of dual cultures, generational expectations, and the unique pressures of being a child of immigrants. While I work with people from all backgrounds, this cultural fluency deeply informs how I honor each person’s unique story.

A collaborative space

My style is open-minded, inquisitive, and collaborative. I don’t assume one explanation fits everyone. I work with individuals and couples, including parents, the sandwich generation, young professionals navigating career transitions, and LGBTQ+ clients. Whether you are struggling with family dynamics, relationship patterns, or a persistent sense that something in your life isn’t quite right, therapy offers a dedicated space to finally understand yourself and navigate a new way forward.

Your first session

In our first session, you can expect to go at your own pace. I’ll make sure you feel truly heard, and we’ll work together to map a path forward. My hope is that you leave our first session feeling understood and supported.

Psychoanalytic psychotherapy is a particular kind of listening. It’s about paying attention not only to what has happened, but to the patterns that keep repeating — the same argument in different relationships, a familiar kind of disappointment, a pressure to perform that never really lifts. These patterns often operate outside our awareness.

Sometimes, understanding a problem intellectually isn’t enough to change how it feels or how it keeps showing up in your life. Psychoanalytic psychotherapy offers a place to explore the feelings, experiences, and relationship patterns that may be contributing to present-day difficulties — working to understand the root causes so that new choices become possible.

This is not about being told what to do or having every experience reduced to your past. It is a collaborative process of developing a deeper understanding of yourself and exploring different ways of responding.
